This wireless speaker system is designed for use with your iPod, but is compatible with pretty much any portable media player including the Zune. It can also be used with your PC, stereo, home theater, or any other device that has an audio output.
The base has an integrated dock for your iPod, and the nice thing about it is that it will actually charge your media player while it’s on the dock, even when the system is turned off. You can add up to four wireless speakers to the system, and the speakers can be placed anywhere. One really cool feature is that each speaker has a built-in plugin on the back so that you can plug the speaker directly into any standard outlet without the need to use mounting brackets to mount it to the wall. Very cool. Of course you can also easily set it up on a shelf or desk if you wish.
The Eos system has great range, working up to 150 feet indoors, or 300 feet outdoors. The signal is interference-free with no signal drops, so no worries there. SRS WOW technology is used to enhance the audio quality by projecting sound in a 3D space, and sounds wonderful at low to medium volume, although some people have reported that the sound gets distorted at high volume levels.
Included with the Eos Wireless Speaker System is the stereo base station with integrated dock, one wireless speaker, an infrared remote, and an auxiliary audio cable. You can however add up to four total speakers to enjoy your entire music library anywhere throughout several rooms in your home or outdoors.
The system is very easy to use and intuitive - you’ll have everything up and running within a few minutes. The only downside is that you can’t control each individual speaker’s volume with the remote - only the main base unit volume. At around $190 from buy.com, this is a fantastic wireless speaker system for the price with some really great features.
