Sony Wireless Speaker System SRS-RF90RK Review
Sony SRS-RF90RK Wireless Speaker System with Built-in Rechargeable Battery

Sony has tried to produce a good quality speaker system here, but have they succeeded? They have a sleek modern design, are easy to use, and broadcast at 900MHz, but does the sound quality hold up?
The system comes with the wireless transmitter, receiver, ac adaptor and Ni-cd battery that automatically charges itself when the speaker is plugged in. The problem is the battery only lasts 3.5 hours, which is quite a bit lower for other wireless speakers in this price range. The system is easy to set up and use, and they advertise a range of 150 feet. The sound quality however has much to be desired. Many people report that the sound quality is quite low, with an irritating hiss constantly in the background that gets worse and worse the farther you move the speaker away from the transmitter. Others complain about the random popping and signal dropouts.
Although the automatic charging battery is nice, it definitely can’t make up for the poor sound quality. The speakers are also not weatherproof, so if it rains the speaker will be toast. If you’re looking at getting a wireless speaker system, it is probably a good idea to look elsewhere. I would suggest starting with the Brookstone Weather Resistant Indoor / Outdoor wireless Speaker Review. You can definitely do better for the price.
